Comfortable, Durable, Long-Lasting Dentures

Every patient’s needs are different when it comes to dentures, but one thing is constant at Dental Group NY; our world-renowned team custom fabricates dentures to be as comfortable and form-fitting as possible, while providing the same look, feel, and functionality of natural teeth. Most of our dentures are made from dental-grade acrylic resin, which we can custom shade and color highlight to exactly match the shade of your natural teeth and gums.

Acrylic dentures are also superior to more traditional options because they allow for far greater adhesion to the top of the gums. Acrylic resin dentures often wear down faster than other more permanent options, however, such as full mouth dental implants. The key benefit of dentures is their cost-effectiveness, but our team will gladly speak with you to determine which solution is best for you and your unique dental needs.

Full Dentures vs. Partial Dentures: What's the Difference?

The difference between full and partial dentures is relatively self-explanatory: full dentures (aka false teeth) replace an entire upper or lower arch of missing teeth, while partial dentures replace a smaller span of three or more missing teeth in a row. Using state-of-the-art imaging technology, Dr. Benjamin Katayev and the team at Dental Group NY will take a detailed impression of your teeth and gums before custom fabricating a set of full or partial dentures right here in our in-house labs in the Bronx and Hollis, Queens, NYC.

How We Make (And Fit) Our Custom Dentures

The first step of the denture process is to ensure that a patient is a quality candidate for dentures. In many instances, full-mouth dental implants offer a superior and longer-lasting option compared to false teeth. However, implants are more expensive than dentures, which is why we work with every patient to determine the solution that best fits their needs. We also fabricate and place several different types of dentures, depending on the overall oral health and unique needs of each patient:

Conventional dentures are custom fabricated and placed over the top of the gums after all teeth have been extracted. This is typically a three-to-four-month process, as the gums must heal and scar over after the tooth extractions, before the dentures can be bonded on top of them.

Immediate dentures are less common and are placed on top of the gums immediately after a tooth is removed. The gums will heal and scar over with the dentures on top of them.
Overdentures are highly customized dentures that are engineered to fit over the top of several existing teeth. Since the teeth are attached to the jawbone, leaving the tooth structure provides far more support and rigidity as opposed to adhesive bonding.

Implant-Supported Dentures: A Far Superior Option

A far superior option to traditional removable dentures is implant-supported dentures. Permanently anchored to two or more implant posts that are securely fixated to the jaw, implant supported dentures do not move or slip over time as traditional dentures do. This means no painful inflammation on the gums, no jaw bone loss, and no dietary limitations when it comes to eating and chewing.
